So i have been playing games (gta v , valorant) didn't face any problem with them

But until recently maybe two weeks it started

"Your device ran into a problem screen"

Idk remember what was the older text written , but yesterday i updated the bios and other drivers using the hp website auto detect updates app (not hp support assistant this bs of app always tells me that i am all good)

After the update all things were good but this morning i got it again and the text started with driver unloaded or something, i couldn't read it it was too fast , so am i cooked or what?

From task manager gpu and cpu and memory are looking good

What do i need to do

Hi @douji

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how unsettling it feels to see that blue screen appear, especially after you’ve already taken the time to update BIOS and drivers. You’ve done the right steps so far, and the fact that your GPU, CPU, and memory look stable in Task Manager is encouraging.

Let’s focus on stabilizing the system and narrowing down what’s causing the “driver unloaded” type of error.

Steps to stabilize your HP Victus 15

1. Run Windows Memory Diagnostic

  • Press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe, and press Enter.
  • Choose “Restart now and check for problems.”
  • This will rule out memory errors that can trigger sudden crashes.

2. Check Device Manager for driver conflicts

  • Right‑click Start > Device Manager.
  • Look for any devices with a yellow triangle or “Unknown Device.”
  • If found, right‑click > Update driver > Search automatically.
  • Pay special attention to display adapters and storage controllers.

3. Reinstall graphics driver cleanly

  • Go to HP Victus 15 Drivers and Downloads
  • Download the latest graphics driver package for your model.
  • Uninstall the current graphics driver from Device Manager, then install the fresh package.
  • Restart the system after installation.

4. Run System File Checker

  • Open Command Prompt as administrator.
  • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  • This checks for corrupted system files that can cause driver unload errors.

5. Monitor Event Viewer logs

  • Press Windows + X > Event Viewer.
  • Expand Windows Logs > System.
  • Look for critical errors around the time of the crash.
  • This can confirm if the issue is tied to a specific driver or service.

6. Test with HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart the laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the extensive test for memory and storage.
  • This ensures hardware stability beyond what Task Manager shows.

You’re not “cooked”—the system is still healthy, but a driver or system file is likely misbehaving. By running memory diagnostics, reinstalling the graphics driver, and checking Event Viewer, you’ll be able to pinpoint the cause and stabilize your laptop.
