Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A2AV)

Hi, I have a hp victus 15 from 2022 and for a about a year I have had issue with the touch pad not working. I was a issue that started just after a few months of purchase of this product, also I the Synaptics driver does not appear under mouse and pointing devices but in system devices "Synaptics SMBus driver" appears in device manager plus the settings for touch pad do not appear in settings app when I try to launch synaptic app it shows error "unable to connect Synaptics pointing device driver". I even performed a system reset but even that did not solve any of the issues. I have tried downloading Synaptics drivers from internet but when downloaded they never showed up under pointing device drivers, Also under HID tab it shows an error on "I2C HID device". Could anyone please help me

I understand you're experiencing an issue with the touchpad on your Laptop.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

Kindly refer to the steps on this link to troubleshoot the issue.

(If the test fails there is an issue with the hardware and you can skip the below troubleshooting steps)

Refer to the steps on this link to update the BIOS and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

Please install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps.

go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
