I noticed issues with my space bar and touchpad. It is very annoying and frustrating. Today, I picked it up and noticed that the base is warped. Doing some research, I see that batteries can bulge. Why does this happen? I don't keep the laptop in hot areas. Is HP providing any support to this?
I appreciate any help that can be provided.

Welcome to the HP Community.
Proper storage of the computer is important.
Unfortunately, the result is not always due to the storage / use methods - batteries of this type can fail quietly or catastrophically.
===============================================
"Fat" Battery / Bloated Battery / Swollen Battery – Sealed / Internal Battery
- Swollen battery might be hiding OR there might be evidence that the battery has inflated. For example, notebook case is warped, touchpad stops working, “odd” bulging near the keyboard.
- If the battery is in a swollen or bloated condition, the battery must be removed from the computer and replaced. There are no other remedies, tests, or useful options.
