I recently opened my HP15f-233 to swap out the hard drive or upgrade i mean, and i noticed no cooling fan..the videos i seen on youtube with that model show cooling fans..i never noticed this, so is this a concern over a missing cooling fan or does this notebook not come with one? my main concern is upgrading harddrive to 750-1000GB SATA or 500-1000GB SSD and the fear of overheating..i looked up part numbers for fans and never really came across anything in 15f series, but i haven't dug too deep yet..i feel these are small issues i can fix myself as i have changed out hardware before on desktops and laptops, but never a notebook..thank you for your answers!!

Your machine HP 15-f233wm uses low wattage Intel® Celeron® N3050 with Intel® HD Graphics (1.6 GHz, up to 2.16 GHz, 2 MB cache, 2 cores) therefore no fan required. The CPU requires only 4.5W

Hi,
Your PC comes without a fan as mentioned by @banhien
It has a larger meta heatsink which covers the chip and part of the motherboard. You can see the picture in the link below:

So, it is not possible to add a fan.
Yes, you can replace the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD such as Crucial MX500 or similar. I would go with a cheaper SSD as the low power CPU will most likely become the bottleneck in speed. On page 44 of the service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive:

Hope it helps,
David
