HP ENVY x360 - 15m-bp111dx.

I only use my laptop 1/2x per week for bills and whatnot and when I went to open it tonight it has a black screen with “Hard Disk Failure”. My daughter does use it to play games like ROBLOX. She hasn’t asked me to play in several days so I have a feeling something happened and she didn’t tell me. I ran a systems check and got the 24 digit error code. I don’t know if this computer is a total lost cause or what at this point. Any help is appreciated.

Hi:

If your notebook is reporting a hard drive failure with a 24 character failure code, you need to buy a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After the drive is replaced, you can using another Windows PC, a 32 GB USB flash drive and the HP cloud recovery tool, you can make a bootable recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
