When I ran the extensive system diagnostic tests, it gave me the failure ID: 68AC0M-6R69KP-MFPWXF-60SR03.

What needs to be done?

The hard drive has failed and will have to be replaced.

Example of hard drive:

Thank you for your explanation. By the way my laptop is up and running and the Disk check done after booting does not show any hard disk error as such. Do I still have to replace my hard disk? Is there any other diagnostic method which would correct the error?

HP Recommended

Sometimes after running Diagnostics it will boot if there was any successful repairs done. However, I would not depend on the drive lasting indefinitely. It may last another week ,it may last several months. At least for now it is booting and you have a chance to back up any files, photos, etc you may want to keep.
