HP ProBook 450 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got this HP ProBook G1 from a friend, it didn't have a power cord, battery, hard drive nor ram, but hey, I got it for free so I'm not complaining. The main issue I'm curious about is that the SATA port for the hard drive was damaged before I got it, the top part that normally covers the pins is no longer there, exposing the pins. My question is if I put a hard drive with the catty that it comes with it, would it still function and read the hard drive, or would it not work at all and I would need to get a new motherboard. The other question I have is, does ddr3 ram work in this model of laptop or does it not. Thanks to anyone who responds to this question.

I've attached a picture of what I mean.

Hello
given in the condition given to you, this may not be your only concern.
But if the connectors are in order, and that is not a problem for the fixing, it should perhaps be fine.
