Dear HP Support Team,

I am experiencing a critical issue with my HP laptop’s hard drive. Upon startup, I received the following error message:

SMART Hard Disk Error

"The SMART hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. To ensure no data loss, please back up the content immediately and run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics."

Hard Disk 1 (301)

I then accessed HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and performed a storage test, which returned the following results:

SMART Check: FAILED

Component Test: FAILED

Failure ID: GG6KMX-BMNCHM-MFPWW1-60BF03

Product ID: 801U3EA#ABV

BIOS Version: 2.3.2.0

The system is still able to boot into Windows, but I am concerned about data loss and potential complete drive failure. Please advise on the next steps, including warranty support, repair, or replacement options

@Mahan04khosravi,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

The failure ID means this:

NonSequitur777_0-1740296905633.png

Meaning, your primary (boot) drive is about to fail and needs to be replaced.

Transfer any data you want to keep to a flash drive or other USB storage device immediately.

Kind Regards,

NonSequitur777
