Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My machine no longer recognizes the internal hard drive. The original was replaced and the new one, either SSD or SATA is not recognized by the machine.

Nothing appears in the bios settings in any mode, Standard or Legacy.

Is there some special drive designated for the machine or does my problem lie elsewhere.

Hey Lylesj

are these new unpartitioned hard drives?

Then you have to go to the partition settings and add at least one partition on the new, !empty! hard drive.

If you still have a partition on it, try if your pc/laptop will recognize the ssd/hdd if you connect it to the pc/laptop by using a usb-adapter.

Sincerely

Jogi

The drives are new but the system / hardware, is not recognizing any of them. I've tried different brands as well and nothing. It worked with the old drive in the machine but not since.

Does the machine require a certain bios update for drive recognition?

Thanks for the advice. The machine does recognize an external booting drive but not  the internal one anymore. Any ideas for a fix?

Could the bios be the problem?
