You can upgrade HDD to 2TB. Higher capacity is a bit thicker, it won't physically fit. Any standard 2.5" HDD will work but please try a popular brand such as Western Digital, Toshiba, Seagate ...
For better speed, you can use 2.5" SSD up to 2TB from Crucial MX500/BX500 series or Samsung 860 EVO series.
Actually your machine supports M.2 SATA SSD, You can add M.2 SATA to your machine, for example
