Hi:

Yes, the error code reported means that you will need to replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04653881

You can reinstall W8.1 for free by downloading the plain W8.1 64 bit ISO file from the link below, and use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached, below to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

After W8.1 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

So i start think to change my hd with one ssd ...do you think is best ? Is ok if i buy a SSD 2,5 inches ?

I have a last question if i can... i have a doubt....my system say the actual damaged hd is TOSHIBA ... but reading in internet thi notebook had to have other type of hard disk, is right? I ask this becaus i suspect about a not declared replacement result from a technical assistance not very honesty... what do you think ?

Hi:

I think it is a very good idea to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

It will run much better.

You can replace the current drive with any 2.5" model drive you want.

HP uses many different brand hard drives.

It probably depends on who gave them the best price when they ordered them for their assembly plant.

If you can live with 500 GB of storage space, I use this drive in my PC's and it works great.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance, and I am happy that you like the new SSD.

The do work much faster than a mechanical hard drive.

Enjoy!
