HI @Basu_ayan1

A hard disk read error can sometimes be fixed remotely, but if the drive is failing, a service center visit may be necessary. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Check Boot Order in BIOS

  • Restart your PC and press F2, F10, or Del to enter BIOS.
  • Ensure your hard disk is set as the primary boot device.

Run CHKDSK via Command Prompt

  • Boot into Windows Recovery Mode (press F8 at startup).
  • Select Command Prompt and type:
chkdsk /f /r X: (Replace X: with your drive letter).

Reset or Update BIOS

  • If the issue started after a BIOS update, try resetting BIOS to default settings.
  • If outdated, update BIOS from your manufacturer’s website.

Test Your Hard Drive

  • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (press F2 at startup).
  • If errors appear, the drive may need replacement.

Check SATA/Power Cables

  • If using a desktop, open the case and reseat the SATA and power cables.

Try a Different Computer or Adapter

  • If possible, connect the hard drive to another PC using a SATA to USB adapter.
  • If it still doesn’t work, the drive may be failing.

Let me know how it goes!
