Pavilion 15-cc023cl

Hi, I'm interested in upgrading a 15-cc023cl.

First, I want to make sure that this is the applicable service guide:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05705784 - The listed model number ranges start at 100 and not 000...

Next, I'm interested in upgrading to an SSD.  I know that I can upgrade the standard HDD to an SSD, but I'm also interested to know if my machine has an additional slot for an M.2 SSD, as well.  Does anyone know?

Finally, what is the maximum RAM speed that this machine can support?

Thanks!

Hi @MugenPower

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the upgrade query.

Here's the link to access the Service Guide - HP Pavilion 15 Laptop PC (model numbers 15-cc000 through 15-cc099 and 15-cc500 through 15-cc599)

Here's the link to the product specifications - HP Pavilion - 15-cc023cl Product Specifications

The maximum RAM supported is 16 GB. For more information, please refer to the page# 2 of the Service Guide.

The SSD information is also on the page#2 of the same Service Guide.

There's no separate m.2 slot for the SSD. There's single M.2/PCIe WLAN antenna built into display assembly.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi @Asmita6658.  Thanks for your response and providing the correct guide!

I am a bit confused on your comment about the M.2 drive, though.  On page 2 of the guide as well as page 43, it states that there is a separate M.2 SATA slot for SSDs.  I understand that my configuration may not have come with one (need to actually confirm, but I'm fairly certain it did not) but it certainly seems to me that the slot would be there.  I think the WLAN assembly you're referring to is actually on the display (page 6) versus the M.2 slot I'm thinking of, which would be on the motherboard (page 43).

I don't have the laptop with me or else I'd open it up and check myself but I wanted to order parts for an upgrade now before I have access to it again.  Perhaps someone who's cracked open theirs can chime in as well?
