Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm installing a secondary 1TB HD in my OMEN notebook.  My primary drive is an SSD.  I can't get the BIOS or anything else to see the drive.  The BIOS is updated.  Within the BIOS is the option to Enable Legacy which is the only option I see however I left it dissabled.  I purchased the ribbon cable through HP and the HD is a Western Digital.  I could use some real help here.  Thanks in advance.

The side that is "up" is the side of the cable that has the little pull tab used to remove it from the zif connector. Make sure you get it inserted in there as far as it can go.

What is the exact model Omen? Part number of the ribbon cable you installed? Go back and try reinstalling. With the thin ribbon cables it is a little hard to get it seated just right.

OMEN NOTEBOOK 17T-W100.  I did reinsert the ribbon cable with no luck.  The cable part number is 862964-001   Discription is:  HDD SUP - for 1.1 SuperPower.  The ribbon cable has ears on it to help insure a correct install.  My other question is could the cable be upside down?  With this cable, I installed it with the silver side up like all the other ribbon cables in use.  Ideas?

That was the answer.  The cable was indeed upside down.  Feel like an idiot here, especially when I should have first tested the cable theory.  Anyway, thats for the quick response.  Hopefully this fix will help others.
