I was getting the message warning of an immenent disk failure. So, what I did was swap the hard drive out for a new M.2 SATA drive. I was able to boot from a USB to install windows and everything seemed fine. What I hadn't done was close the housing all the way, so I closed the housing. Then all of sudden the PC freezes. So I hard reboot the PC. And now it's telling me there's no OS on the hard drive and when I go in BIOS and try a hard disk check it says it doesn't detect a hard drive.
I've swapped it out with another new ssd and still the same thing. I've swapped it out and put the old one in that was supposedly failing and it can't detect that one either. Idk what to do at this point.
I'm wondering if the cables connecting the ssd to the motherboard have a short in them.

- Holding down the power button for 15-30 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- Powering the laptop back on and entering the BIOS (usually by pressing Esc, F10, or Del during boot).
- In the BIOS, look for an option to "Load Defaults" or "Reset BIOS to factory settings."
- Save and exit the BIOS.
3. Update BIOS
- BIOS Update: If your BIOS is outdated, it could be causing issues with detecting the SSD. Visit HP's support page for your specific notebook model and download the latest BIOS update if available. You may need to boot from a USB to apply the update.
