Hi I’m trying to locate if I can someone who knows what OEM hard drive came in my laptop from factory. I’m trying to see if the company who worked on my laptop changed mine out and that’s why it crashed. I took it apart and noticed a Toshiba hard drive. Just wondering if Toshiba hard drives are oem? Please help so I know where I need to go with this. Also a good replacement for it. I run a business and I’d like to get a couple years out of it if I can just replace the hard drive to a SSD! Thanks in advance!

Hi:
Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing exactly what brand/model hard drive HP originally installed in your notebook.
They use drives from a few different manufacturers. Samsung, Toshiba, Seagate, Western Digital.
The only way you would be able to tell, would be to open up the notebook and see if there is a HP part number label on the hard drive or not. There should be.
You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
