Hi @Noshabanoshii,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are experiencing a hard drive issue. To help us identify the correct troubleshooting steps, please provide the following details:

  • What is the exact HP computer model?
  • What happens when you turn on the computer?
  • What exact error message or code appears, such as Boot Device Not Found, 3F0, or a SMART hard-drive warning?
  • Does Windows start, or is the computer unable to boot?
  • Did the issue begin after an update, power interruption, drop, or hardware change?

If possible, share a clear picture of the complete error screen. Please do not include the computer’s serial number or any personal information.

If the computer can open the Startup Menu, please run the hard-drive diagnostic:

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly.
  3. At the Startup Menu, press F2.
  4. Select Component Tests > Storage.
  5. Run the available storage test.
  6. If the test fails, note the 24-digit Failure ID and the failed component.

If Windows still starts, please back up your important files before performing further troubleshooting.

Reply with the exact model, error message, and diagnostic result so we can provide the appropriate next steps.

Take care and have a good day!

I'm an HP Employee.
