Hello.I would like to know what kind of slot of hard disk i have in my laptop and i would like to know how many slots of hard disk i have because i want to put an hdd next to my ssd because my ssd only have 128 gb

Hi:

 

I recommend that you open up the notebook and see if the hardware is there to add a 2.5" drive.

 

There probably isn't since the notebook did not come from HP with dual storage capability.

 

If not, you would need to purchase additional parts to add a 2.5" hard drive, or you can purchase a larger capacity M.2 SSD.

 

These would be the parts you need to add a 2.5" hard drive from chapter 3, page 27 of the service manual.

(6) Hard drive connector board            L20454-001
(7) Hard drive/solid-state drive cable L20456-001

 

It may be very hard to find the parts you need.

so that means if i have 2 slots of hard drive means that it has dual storage capability.But if i have 1 slot is not a problem.

but what kind of slot do i have in this laptop? sata,2.5? i don t know but thank you anyway and i heard this thing since i don t have cd drive i heard that i can put an ssd instead the cd drive cause i don t have it

You're very welcome.

 

Go to the device manager, and click on the Disk drives category.

 

It should give you the model of your 128 GB SSD.

 

Is is a M.2 SSD, but I don't know if it is SATA or NVMe.

 

If you do a search of the drive model number you find in the device manager, you will probably find that information someplace.
