Have been getting a blue screen of death for a bit now happens randomly and while looking at things that can cause it some articles have said hardware and one suggested running HP Hardware Diagnostics to weed out hardware issues should it not be hardware related. but when I try and run HP hardware Diagnostics at start up (F2) it loads up initially but then it says INITIALIZING DIAGNOSTICS and it just stays on the screen never loads the diagnostics tool, Sat last night for a good 15-20 minutes and nothing.
Thoughts? Can I run this from inside windows if so how?

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues running hardware diagnostics on the computer.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you follow the steps in the below article to run the hardware diagnostics on the computer.

For the bluescreen issue, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and test.
