Hi. Does anyone know how can I find the part numbers of hardware components in my laptop based on laptop's serial number or product model etc? At this moment I specifically want to know the part number of 256 m.2 SSD came in my laptop 14-ba018ca (product ID: 1UG15UA#ABL) to find out its read/write speeds and connector shape etc to find compatible upgrade. But knowing other components part numbers will also be helpful for further replacements. Thank you.

Hi:
According to chapter 1 of the service manual the 14-ba0xx model series uses M.2 SATA SSD's not NVMe.
The parts list has the part number of the drive but not a very specific description.
If you google the part number, you will find that it is a SATA M.2 SSD and chapter 3 also shows that part number is a 256 GB SATA M.2 SSD.
I suppose you could experiment with a NVMe SSD since the manual indicates other models in the series support NVMe SSD's, but I would only do that if you can borrow one, or if a seller you buy one from will accept returns no matter what.

Hi Paul,
Thank you very much for helpful reply. I thought m.2 and NVMe are the same thing. What is still confusing me that how can I confirm the shape (connector) of stick SSD my laptop will accept? By searching on google I see with m.2 SSDs with 1 notch or 2 notches, and the one with 1 notch has differenct location of notch (pins). So how can I find which specific one is compatible with my laptop? The hard drive in pavillion x360 is located at the worst possible place and dismantling laptop just to physically check it is way hectic so don't wanna do it twice for finding the current SSD exact shape then later replacing it. Thank you in advance.

You're very welcome.
Yes, it can be very confusing.
M.2 is the type of slot the drive fits in.
M.2 slots can support SATA SSDs only, NVMe SSD's only or both, which is why you need to consult the service manual.
If you want to play it 100% safe, you need to replace the existing 256 GB SSD with a SATA M.2 SSD.
Those have two notches.
NVMe SSDs normally have one notch.
The Western Digital Blue M.2 SATA SSD's have the best maximum sequential read/write performance.
