Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Device Manager

Right-click Start → Device Manager

Look under:

Sound, video and game controllers

Audio inputs and outputs

If audio devices are missing → Windows doesn’t see the sound hardware.

Run HP Hardware Test

Restart laptop → press Esc repeatedly → then F2

Run Audio Test

If audio test is missing or fails → hardware problem

Update BIOS & Drivers

Go to: support.hp.com/in-en

Enter your model

Download & install:

BIOS update

Audio drivers

Restart

Reset BIOS

Turn off laptop

Hold power button for 15 seconds

Turn on → press Esc, then F10 for BIOS

Press F9 (reset BIOS) → F10 (save & exit)

Check Windows Services

Press Windows + R → type services.msc

Make sure:

Windows Audio
