My laptop model is HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0101ax. I have 8gb of onboard ram out of which only available ram is 5.9 gb. 2.1 gb of ram is hardware reserved. For other laptops something in mb is hardware reserved. How can i reduce my hardware reserved ram and get 7gb+ available ram.

Hello @Aneek1 .
You will have to modify the virtual memory and reduce it, however, what the system takes by default is adequate for the correct performance of the equipment.

@Aneek1 .
In this case increase the ram memory, because if you could not reduce it, it is because it is necessary for the system.

@Aneek1 .
If you cannot modify the reserved ram memory from the bios there is not much that can be done, so I am sorry, but there are manufacturers that do not give full control of the BIOS due to company policy issues for the proper operation of the equipment.
Check the information in the following link:

Hi, @Aneek1
There is nothing you can do to change the amount of hardware reserved memory.
Your notebook was intentionally designed that way.
HP released this document a while back, which explains the memory shortage.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06526774
This seems to only apply to models with AMD Athlon/Ryzen 3xxx processors, such as your notebook's model series, which is included on the above list of affected PC's.
Info on Microsoft PlayReady.
https://www.microsoft.com/playready/overview/
Your only option would be to install more physical memory.
Your notebook can support up to 2 x 16 GB of memory.
See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info.
