I have an Omen 15-ce007nv which has an SSD 128gb (THNSN5128GPUK TOSHIBA) and a 1Tb HDD (HGST HTS721010A9E630). It also has 2 RAMs, one 4gb Sk Hynix( HMA851S6AFR6N-UH) and one 8gb Samsung (M471A1K43CB1-CRC) both at 2400hz. Finally the motherboard is HP 838F. And I would like to upgrade the SSD M2 and the RAM.
I would like to know which components are compatible with my Laptop.
Till now I have found these:
SSD

RAM
https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Memory-2400MHz-SODIMM-CMSX16GX4M2A2400C16/dp/B019MRBKYG?th=1
Very grateful for any help you can give.
Thanks, Dio

You are in the right ballpark but your mistake is you are swinging for the fence and you need to think more in terms of hitting a single. U.S. baseball metaphor may be lost. What I mean is you have the right idea. The laptop can take up to 32 gigs of memory or a pair of 16 gigabyte DDR4-2666 modules. There is also support for the PCIe/NVME M.2 protocol. The 2 products you ask about have some slight problems. You ask about Corsair Vengeance memory. This is performance or gaming memory and may not work well with an HP laptop even an Omen. You should focus on OEM type memory like Samsung, Hynix, Crucial. The memory will likely run at -2400 speed but the Manual:
lists DDR4-2666 as the right memory. I think DDR4-2400 would also work but there is no cost difference so you might as well get -2666.
As for the SSD, the Samsung 980 Evo is a 4th gen PCIe device. Your laptop's motherboard has 3rd gen PCIe. So the 980 would work but not at its full advertised speed. You are better off getting the Samsung 970 Evo or Evo Plus, which will run at the full capacity of your system.
The upgrades you want to do are fully authorized for end users on this model laptop.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Thank you very much for your prompt answer.
Firslty I thought SSD 980, due to the specs being PCIe Gen 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.4, that would be compatible. But I will check now, as you proposed the 970 Evo. Seconldy, regarding the RAMs, because the initail frequency of the RAMs being 2400 I thought that it would be best to stay at the same course.
Thanks again for all your help.
P.S. Although I am not American you metaphor made perfect sence!

I know they make the 980 in two versions: a Gen 3 and a Gen 4 and I thought the one you asked about was Gen 4. The Gen 3 will work fine but really no better than a 970 so I would go with whatever is less expensive.
On the memory, DDR4-2666 will downclock no problem but as I said DDR4-2400 will also work. Matched chips are the way to go.

Dear Huffer,
If I may one last question about the RAM. I searched for OEm type RAMs and I found some Crucial at 2666, but the CAS is 19 and my onboard RAM is CAS 17. Will this cause any issues? Also I found some Crucial Ballistix RAMs with 2666 and CAS 16, will these do or they are at the same category as Corsair Vengeance, which you mentioned in an earlier reply.
Thank you again for your valuable input.
