Hey guys, recently my hdd ribbon connector of my laptop broke down. The number on it is DD0Y11HD000. I have found an offer for this exactly same serial on ebay, but the seller is in Europe. So it takes more than a month to arrive in Canada. I really need my laptop for work now. I have found there is a similar ribbon with the serial as i have attached in the photo on ebay. I wonder if i buy it will it work for my laptop. The ribbon and the structure of the
item is similar to mine. I hope to get the answer soon so i can order i

The number @iomare gave you is the HP Part number. Its not printed on the part but is the internal HP designation. You will have much more luck searching with that number. The number printed on your part is not an identifier for the part its a number put on by the assembler. Other perfectly compatible parts may or may not have that number.
The HP Part number is actually the hard drive mounting kit and includes the mounting "rails" and the ribbon cable unit:

As stated, these are widely available under the HP Part number worldwide but searching with the number you have will
not return many results.

Hi,
The part number for the ribon cable and brackets is 767247-001
If you search with part number online you should be able to find quite easily (closer than Europe) I believe the picture you posted is also the correct one. See if they give the part number in description.
Hope it helps,
David

No, The exactly serial number on my laptop parts is Y11 DD0Y11HD000 JPC- JPC 140910 . The number you gave is different from mine. so i wonder if i buy the cable ribbon with the number different from mine ( for example like your number that you give me). Does it still work?.... The structure of the hdd cable ribbon is the same, just different the serial number.

So, basically I understand what you guys are saying. But i think i need it ASAP, so the link you gave me shipping from USA take like nearly a week. While the picture that i have posted with the item above is in Torronto, which take 3 days to ship to my place. However, the part number for that product is 762504-001 as i look it up on google. So I wonder, if i purchase it, will it compatible with my laptop. Thanks!

HP has no cross-compatibility manual as you see with cars. If I look up that part number on HP Parts it says it is used in over 200 models so they do not give the details.
We know the black plastic part is the same since they all have to fit over standard SATA connections, the only issue is the cable. If it looks the same I think its worth the gamble and has a high chance of working. No promises, of course. I once had to add a hard drive to a mini-desktop and the manufacturer (Dell) had no official part but there was a zif connector and a place to put a hard drive. I took a gamble and got a similar hard drive ribbon cable connector from a Dell laptop and it worked.
