Hi @Mulwak,

Good Day.  Thank you for posting your query in the HP community.  I read the post regarding issues with overheating on your Omen computer. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description and commendable diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did this happen after a recent power outage or surge?
  • Did you update the bios?

Please let me know the complete model# of the computer to assist you better.

The Omen operates under a standard optimal temperature window. There is enough thermal cooling protection provided that should take care of the computer.

However, if the computer is really becoming hot, please update the bios and chipset drivers from this link: http://hp.care/2syreDe  select the country and follow the on-screen instructions to complete it.

Also, make sure that you run HP support assistant to update the drivers and Windows updates.

  • Then check if the heat reduces. For further assistance please check this link: http://hp.care/2ftA3am  to reduce heat inside the computer. This should do the trick for you.
  • If the issue continues, contact HP phone support to get the computer serviced.

If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.
