I can only see what you see. I doubt the pins are any different because any of these video cards can fit on the same motherboard and the cable attaches to the motherboard, not the video card. The only variable in this is the model of the MXM video card being used, right?

They look pretty similar to me, too:
There is an extra little heatsink piece on the xx291. I just hesitate to tell you to go against the Manual.
There could be some internal electronic difference that is not visible. Unlikely but possible.
Obviously both parts are available in the market. What is the advantage of one over the other? I surely would not risk it for a few bucks. Might risk it if the "right" one could not be found at all.

Thank you for the reply! Actually i went against manual with the display, it's a totally different model ,and works like a charm. I guess i will install the heatsink and see how it goes, fans seems about the same power so nothing can go too wild really :)))

ye,that was my logic too. So i tried and seems like everything is ok except the fact that the gpu plate is thinner than the one for k1100m,so they wont fit . And the extra thing on the gpu plate on top ,the black strip ,is just a thermal isolation plastic of sorts, just a sticker 🙂

In HP Z800 Workstation, after replacing the Xeon E5530 CPU with the Xeon X5687, the following POST message appeared:
517 - Low Power CPU heatsink(s) detected for High Power CPU(s)
For this processor it is possible to purchase Intel BXSTS100C (Combo) Thermal Solution for LGA1366
Also on the site I found a compatible kit 535588-001, but it is discontinued.
Can I put Intel BXSTS100С instead of HP 535588-001?
Because I have not found anywhere information on the compatibility of installation sizes
