Subject: SSD not detected after installation – Crucial P310 1TB

Hello HP Support,

I recently purchased the following SSD, based on a recommendation from HP Support:

Crucial P310 SSD 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe – CT1000P310SSD801
(from the link previously provided by your team)

After installing it in my HP 14s-dq2016no laptop, I attempted to install Windows 11 using a bootable USB drive. However, during the installation, only the USB drive is visible — the SSD does not appear.

The SSD also does not show up in the BIOS.

Could you please advise me on how to proceed?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,

Hi:

Since your notebook has an Intel 11th gen core processor, you have to load the Intel storage controller drivers at the screen where Windows cannot find any drives to install on.

I zipped up and attached below should work for you:

Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.

Dear HP Support,

I recently contacted your support team because my laptop couldn’t detect any drives during Windows installation. After following the provided instructions, I was finally able to complete the installation successfully.

However, after the installation finished and the device restarted, I encountered a problem: the system displays an error screen stating that there is a problem and the PC needs to restart. It then restarts automatically, but the same error keeps appearing in a continuous loop.

I am unable to reach the Windows desktop at all, and the device is stuck in this reboot cycle.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? I would appreciate any further guidance or steps I can take to fix this.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,

Hi:

This is a peer to peer forum, not HP support or customer service.

We do not work for or represent HP.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to solve that problem but there may be another way to reinstall Windows.

I will need to know the full product number of your notebook.

I believe the 14s-dq2016no has this product number--570K3EA, but there is also a # sign with 3 characters after the # sign and I need to know what those characters are.

In other words 570K3EA#???
