Microsoft Windows 11

"Hello, I need some technical help with a storage upgrade for my laptop. My model is an HP Laptop 15s-fq5xxx, and my product number is 67V53PA#ACJ.

My goal is to upgrade the internal SSD to a larger one, specifically a 2TB model. I have already confirmed that my laptop only has one M.2 slot, so this would be a replacement, not an addition."

"However, when I went to a local HP World store to ask about this, the staff there seemed unsure and told me that 'issues can happen' with this kind of upgrade. They couldn't give me a confident answer."

(This is where you ask your main, direct question.)

You: "So, I am contacting you, the official HP support, to get a final, definitive answer. The specific drive I want to install is the WD_Black SN7100 2TB NVMe SSD."

"Can you please confirm if my laptop's motherboard and BIOS will fully support this 2TB NVMe drive? I need to be 100% sure that there are no known compatibility issues before I purchase it."

Hi @CHT060203

The disks can be of any size, 2 TB, 4 TB. There is no limit on the size imposed on an SSD disk to work.

I'm not an HP employee. This forum is intended to help users with their questions. If you want an official response, you should contact HP directly. This is the first time I've seen a user request an official response regarding updates.

Wish you all the best..
