Common problems for Battery

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am getting errors on my computer at startup that seem to pertain to the CMOS and power. Obviously, the first thing I thought of was the CMOS / RTC battery, so I decided to open up the computer and try to replace that. However, after tearing down the computer, I can't seem to find that battery at all.

This computer is a HP 17-BY0053CL with a KBL-6L motherboard.

I have found some similar articles (such as https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Cannot-find-BIOS-CMOS-Battery/...), but nothing that specifically points out the location of this battery. Does this computer not have one? How is that possible? I thought all computers had a battery to keep track of time.

Hi:

In your notebook's model series, the main battery also serves as the RTC battery.

HP 17 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

If you look at chapter 3 of the service manual, you will find no part for a CMOS/RTC battery, and if you look at chapter 5, you will find no procedure to remove or replace a CMOS/RTC battery.
