HP 14-bp062sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I'm looking to upgrade a newly bought laptop with a 500 GB SSD sata I currently own. The laptop came with an m.2 ssd though so I want completely sure if a sata ssd could be fitted. After looking on the crucial website, the compatibility search matched up sata ssds. Also after asking around somebody told me that I would have to purchase a hard drive caddy kit, but they seem to come in various sizes so I'm a bit stumped.
There's a spare port near the sata hard drive bay but I'm not fluid enough with laptops (and cant find a manual)
Here's a photo of the laptop opened

Yes you can put 2.5 inch 7mm thick SATA SSD in the hard drive bay along with 128gb M.2 SATA SSD already present from factory. See manual.

Samsung 850 Evo SSD is good one.

You need these,

Thanks, unfortunately them parts are not really worth the investment to me. I may just sell the m.2 that came with the laptop, and buy a 500 GB one

You're welcome.

Yes, I'll suggest you to go for upgrade of the M.2 2280 SATA SSD capacity.

This is known to be compatible with HP notebooks: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/ssd-850-evo-m-2-500gb-mz-n5e5...
