HP Pavilion dv5t-1000
Microsoft Windows Vista

Please, I need help to upgrade my old HP Pavilion dv5t-1000 (p/n KQ 574AV). I don't know how to request the hard drive and  memory cards. On the same way,  the max amount of GBs this machine can handle without problem. I will really appreciated it. Thank you.

Its very old and obsolete. HP does not support it any more and you have to go to 3rd party sites to find the Manuals. Max memory is 4 gb of DDR2-800 SO-DIMM (2 x 2). Uses SATA hard drives or you can install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in place of the hard drive which would be your best possible upgrade. SSD capacity is not limited and a 2 TB would work but investing that much money in it makes no sense. The processor is removeable and could theoretically be upgraded to an Intel T9600.

Hello Huffer and thank you for your help. I know about the age of my product. Just as a comment, I bought 4 HP products almost at the same time for my wife, 2 songs and to myself. I upgrade my one (Pavilion dv7t-3300) and is working really good. and even the little one (Mini 311-1100) to search the web but no for play any video because is  taking about 3-5 minutes to star playing those. As an old man as I am, I keep those as memories. Thanks again and have a wonderful holidays.
