17m-bw0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello to all

Im looking for possible upgrades for my 17m-bw0xxx (product number 3WF11UA#ABA)

is there in any website or documentation the possible upgrades it can have, at least on HDDs and Memory

I've read that it can be upgraded up to 16GB tested by HP, but that it can support up to 32GB. is there a list of compatible memory PNs?

as for the HDDs, it came with "Intel Optane+932GBHDD - 931.51 GB"

can I install an M.2 HDD on it for OS and leave the old drive for storage only? can the 2 be installed at the same time?

regards to all.

1. RAM: Yes, you can use the following compatible RAM to upgrade to 32GB

        https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/envy-17m-bw0013dx/CT13229554

2. HDD/M.2 SSD: Yes you can remove 16GB Flash cache (Optane) and install M.2 NVMe SSD and it can run together with existing HDD. The following steps may help to save you time:

              (a)  disable Optane using Intel Rapid Storage program before installing M.2 SSD.

              (b)  clone HDD to M.2 then remove HDD,

              (c)  run on SSD for few days,

              (d)  when happy, format old HDD and put it back for storage.

The following M.2 SSD's are know as ompatible
