Hello everyone, I bought a HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx a long time ago to work with music, and now I want to understand if I can update its components
motherboard - HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx
processor type - QuadCore Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 3500 MHz (35 x 100)
RAM - DIMM1 (2x) dual channel : Samsung M471A1K43CB1-CRC 8 ГБ DDR4-2400 DDR4 SDRAM (18-17-17-39 @ 1200 МГц)
I currently have 16GB of RAM (two 8GB sticks)
lI can put 32 GB (two strips of 16) and which ones?
Can I install RAM with a higher frequency than what I have? Or not?

Hi @Chopas
Some users have reported that it works with 32 GB of ram, although I think it is not the most convenient not always more ram is efficiency can cause some problems.
Anyway if you can put 32 GB of ram, the frequency, it does nothing to put higher frequency your processor does not go more than 2400, put higher frequency activates the memory BUS and down the frequency to the memory to 2400 to be compatible with the processor.

"Can I install RAM with a higher frequency than what I have? Or not?"
You can, but if you install memory with a higher frequency, the BIOS firmware will only allow the memory to run at the default 2400 MHZ that the chipset and processor require

Hi
The service manual indicates 16 GB, but as I indicated users have used 32 GB and it works. About the frequency as I said you can put a higher one but nothing will change about the frequency it will always work at 2400.
