Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to install the USB driver, I am glad to assist you.

Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant to fix this issue.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

Keep me posted.

dear Sandytechy20,

I have the latest HP support Assistant installed, even ran the bio checks and USB check on the support assistant again.

The same result when I go to windows update:

Hewlett-Packard - USB - 4/8/2019 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.237

Install error - 0x80070103

How do I install or even hide this constant warning to retry after I download and install new updates?

Still, happy with my HP Computer, but frustrated on this issue.

SO, I , like many, many thousands of users (2019 -2023) out there on the web forum , also have the same identical issue:

"Hewlett-Packard - USB - 4/8/2019 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.237 Install error - 0x80070103" Windows 11 HP UBS driver update error 2019.png

description / request/suggestion:

  1. the Normally positive gratifying and dopamine producing effect of hitting refresh on windows update has been totally ruined and replaced by this annoying error which is pernicious and persistent, starting circa August 2019 obviously and Hewlett-packard all windows or both could maybe by now I've done something to resolve it such as A) stop it being downloaded or B ) make file available for UPLOAD from HP or windows service anyway.

Having failed to prevent its recurrence in perpetuity...  (given that I have a one month old computer now with this 2019 issue and its November 2023) how about you provide a solution for removing it?

Please document it here rather than making it a one on one.

Still no solution for this? It's been going on for weeks now on my laptop...

this looks like it has fallen into the 'too much effort" bucket for those who coudl fix it..

and will now be with us for the life our computers. moving on.

It is sad, that they only way that HP said they could possibility help is setting up a call with their Tech People.   I do not understand why their HP Support Assistant Program which get regular updates, cannot download a new driver for that USB problem or fix it when I scan problems within that program.  I just don't have the hour to spend with the Tech group!
