Hi @ABAWAN,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue of the cursor jumping around while typing on an HP laptop can be frustrating, but it's usually solvable with some troubleshooting steps. Here's what you can try:

Touchpad Sensitivity: The most common cause is accidentally touching the touchpad with your palms or fingers while typing. You can adjust the touchpad sensitivity settings to help prevent this. Look for touchpad settings in your system settings or control panel, where you should find an option to adjust sensitivity or palm check threshold.

Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers: Outdated or corrupted touchpad drivers can cause erratic behavior. Go to the HP website, find the support section for your laptop model, and download the latest touchpad drivers. Alternatively, you can use the Device Manager in Windows to update your touchpad driver by right-clicking on it and selecting "Update driver."

Disable Touchpad While Typing: Some laptops have an option to automatically disable the touchpad while typing. This can usually be found in the touchpad settings. If your laptop has this feature, enabling it might solve the problem.

External Mouse Interference: If you are using an external mouse, try disconnecting it to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, an external device can interfere with the touchpad.

Check for Malware: Malware can sometimes cause erratic behavior on your computer. Run a full system scan with a reputable antivirus program to ensure your system is clean.

Hardware Issues: If none of the above solutions work, there might be a hardware issue with your touchpad. In this case, contacting HP support or a professional repair service is advisable.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
