Hello,

I am using a Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop (Windows 11). Recently I noticed a major increase in CPU temperature while gaming.

Even when playing a normal/light game, the CPU temperature quickly rises to around 95°C. Earlier it never used to reach this temperature during the same usage.

I suspect the cooling system may be affected by dust buildup because the laptop fan does not seem to spin as fast as it used to before. The airflow also feels weaker.

Laptop specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i5-14450HX
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050
RAM: 24GB

Things I observed:
• CPU temperature reaches ~95°C during normal gaming
• Fan speed seems slower than before
• Laptop becomes very hot quickly
• Possible dust accumulation in the cooling vents/fan

I would like to know:
1. If fan cleaning or thermal paste replacement is recommended
2. Any HP diagnostic tools I should run

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Is it under warrenty? If not then you should do cleaning and thermal repasting yourself to fix it. I can provide steps to do it correctly for best results but I want to that if you do it or not.

Cleaning and repasting is only solution here
