HI!
Recently my HP ENVY x360 - 15-aq267cl laptop started to restart unexpectedly. I noticed that is was unusually hot at the rear zone where the speakers are located.
I followed some advises from the community an the unexpected restarts stopped to occur after performing a hard-reset, but anyway, I feel that it's warmer than before, so I kept researching:
1- Noticed that it works cooler when it's working on battery (from 45 to 55 Celsius) . As soon as I connect the laptop to AC, the CPU temp raises ( ranges from 70to 93 degrees must of the time). Using OpenHardwareMonitor for measuring.
2- Performed a battery test and it reports that the battery is functioning correctly but it's weak due normal aging.
3- My BIOS is running the F58 firmware version. The F59 update is available but it reports an error during the boot process when trying to update the BIOS.
I'm wondering: Is the 70-93 Celsius a proper working range for CPU temperature?
Is the F59 BIOS Update compatible to my laptop BIOS?
Might the weak battery cause some overheating?
Thanks in advance,
Felix

Hi Praveen196!
- I've already tried to update the BIOS many times, but I'm always getting the same error. When the laptops restarts in order to update the BIOS it shows the update screen and the error message: "Unable to update the BIOS. Error opening the image file" or something like this.
- Windows is up to date.
- HP Support Assistant shows just the F59 BIOS update pending, no other drivers are obsolete.
Regards,
Felix
