Hi Experts,

My PC had 4GB ram originally(3.6 usagable). I recently upgraded it to 8 GB but its only 4.9GB usable.

I have checked the BIOS as well as the operating sytem. Both are perfectly reading my available memory as 8GB.

The rest 3.1 GB as per task manager is Hardware reserved memory.

I dont think it should occupy more than few hundred MBs, let alone 3 GB.

I have also already checked the Maximum memory under Boot in MSCONFIG. It was not ticked.

Please help.

That means your machine has more SPARE system RAM that why it assigns more system RAM for Integrated graphics which uses shared system RAM.

It will scale back when required.

Regards.
