TDP throttle limit
My laptop is HP pavilion 15t (T9y64AV) 2016 i3 6100u 6gb ram. When played games on the system the cpu frequency drops to 1.3ghz from 2.3 ghz and the it never goes above 11 watts, the cpu is capable of 15 watts. My issue is that HP limiting my cpu way too much to the point where performance gets significantly lower, therfore i am not getting full potiential out of my cpu. According to Intel ARK website, i3-6100u TDP is 15 watts (max) and the configurable TDP down is 7.5 watts, it is mainly use of "Configurable TDP-down is typically executed by the system manufacturer to optimize power and performance". So HP uses this feature and limits my cpu to 11 watts.
To Fix this my suggestion to HP is don't limit the cpu TDP and set it to back to 15 watts through a BIOS update. Remember as a hp customer I expect performance and reliability, not how cool my laptop is.
Hoping to see the update for my laptop soon.
Thank You,
Sincerely HP customer.
