The display hinge on my HP ENVY 17t-ce100 CTO (product # 6UX02AV) randomly broke last year when closing the display, it made a loud pop sound. I wasn't able to open the screen afterwards. It was stuck shut. My son was able to remove the broken pieces inside which was preventing the lid from opening. For over a year, I have left the screen open since the broken hinge might crack off more pieces and not be able to open it again. I'm very disappointed with HP's quality these days as an internal hinge shouldn't break like that and after seeing many others on the community forum reporting similar issues that says a lot! I'm reluctant to buy another HP laptop at this point!!!
If possible, I'd like to get this repaired but, I don't know how. I was not able to locate any replacement parts for the hinge either. Suggestions?

Hi @SCMGrams,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
I understand that this is a Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have an option to schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.
For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
