Hi issues with HP Envy 17 hinges broken so screen unstable and starting to get damaged as touching chassis, also bottom section of casing appears to have come loose from main body. This machine cost over 1000 GBP 1.5 years ago and is already a write-off. Please advise or cover repair costs as this is totally unacceptable for what is meant to be a higher end spec machine. I have read many other similar issues people have encountered on the boards similar to this for these models as well and as when I went into the local repair shop. I think it is a well known design flaw now with these models ? I look forward to hearing from you so I can continue to stick with HP going forward for my next machine which I replace every few years anyways. Thanks Max

Hi @Maxi888,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that this is a Hardware issue. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.
For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

Thanks for the reply @Elohi_HR. The warranty was only 1 year so the laptop is already out of warranty. I therefore understand it will be a costly repair job to replace the hinges, casing and screen after only 1.5 years. I just don't think this is right and since it is a well known design flaw ask that HP cover the cost of the repair or offer me a replacement laptop else I can not see myself ever buying HP again and will certainly not be recommending HP laptops to the broader Tech Community. Please let me know and thanks for your help. Regards Max
