I have an HP laptop 15s and the fan noise is ridiculously loud. I opened it up and used a small toothbrush to clean the fan but no luck. I have also tried changing the temperature profile to the quiet setting but for some reason the settings arent saving and it just goes back to recommended every time. I am trying to see what else I can do on my own before going to see a professional.

Hi @vekete,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

  • On select HP notebook computers, you can use the HP Command Center app to control the thermal profile of the computer and reduce the noise generated by the cooling fan.
  • Note: You might need to install the HP Command Center app from the Microsoft Store.
  • In Windows, search for and open HP Command Center.
  • On the Thermal Profile tab, select the quiet mode.

  • If your computer does not support either feature or if the issue persists, you might need to clean the air vents.
