Hello! I have Recently Noticed that My HP Laptop has Became a Lot Hotter in Just 15-20 Minutes even if I Do My Everyday Work Like Working on Chrome, Office, etc...

Then, I Decided to Check whether my Laptop CPU Fan is functioning properly or not! I Searched it Online and Found Certain Third-Party Softwares Like SpeedFan, etc... But it was Unable to Detect My CPU Fan!

I Searched a Lot Online but Doesn't Found any Info! I Can't Open My Laptop as it is Really Difficult to Open it's seal!

Please Help Me if there is any authentic and Proper Way to check whether my PC CPU Fan is Functioning Properly or not!

In waiting of a Positive Answer,

Regards,

Sanidhya

I'm aware of the importance of functioning fans in laptops -- but unfortunately, the HP diagnostics don't check the fans and I am not aware of any other diagnostics you can run to check them.

The usual way of checking fans in laptops is through audio inspection (listening for them) and visual inspection (removing the case and looking at them).

You should be aware that with Win10, even if you are not running any apps yourself, nonetheless, you generally have 50 or so tasks running in the background at any one time.  So, the PC is never actually idle.

And, with the newer laptops with smaller fans, thinner cases, and faster processors, they tend to run much hotter than the older bulkier laptops.

Unless you have a really high-end gaming laptop with heatpipes and active liquid cooling (which cost $5000 USD or more!), then you have a fan. period.

The apps you are trying to use simply are not able to detect fans in newer model laptops.

The laptop can be getting hot simply because Microsoft pushes out Windows Updates every week -- which then download and install updates without your knowledge or permission. And when that happens, both the processor and disk get heavily utilized, driving up the heat a lot.

Thanks for Your Respond!

OK! Thanks for Information! If this Heating Problem goes to a more high Level! I will Contact an Enginner to check My Laptop whether the Fans are working properly or not! Because I Can't Open Laptop as there is no Instruction Video available on the Internet! It's a Little Bit Different from other Laptops as they open just by unscrewing it! But this one does not! I have Tried Opening it myself But was unable to open it!

However,

Thanks for the Information!
