Trying to find maximum RAM system can use. Not in any of the manuals that I can find, and I can't register the system with HP, it doesn't recognize the S/N. that 1 is blurry, maybe a T. Can't reach support without registering the system.

Hi:
Your notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4 memory.
See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info:
HP 15 Laptop PC (Intel)HP 15g Laptop PCHP 15q Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide
Since your notebook already has an 8 GB memory chip, I recommend you install the Crucial 8 GB memory chip that they indicate is compatible with your notebook:
Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM | CT8G4SFS824A | Crucial.com
Your notebook probably came with a DDR4-2133 MHz memory chip, but the DDR4-2400 memory chip will automatically bridge to 2133 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's processor can run the memory at.
