Common problems for Battery

Pavilion x360 Convertible 14m-ba1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Very recently, I've had battery troubles. I ran the diagnostics test through HP Support Assistant, and it says I have a weak battery due to age and my capacity is around ~33%. It will not stay powered on unless plugged in. Unfortunately, my laptop as a whole is out of warranty (expired recently). My battery age is 741 days.

I went to the parts center to see what the cost is for a new one, but they have discontinued the battery for my laptop so I can't order it. My battery was NOT a part of the recall. The website doesn't show alternatives. How can I get a new battery for my laptop? It's approaching 3 years old and still working great other than the battery issue so I want to keep it going.

The authorized repair agent I reached out to said they could not help me because they order from the same parts catalog, so if I can't order it, they can't either.

Thank you for the link. Do you know if there is a way to make sure this battery wasn't a part of the original recall without installing it first and running the diagnostic after? I am worried about buying stale stock that may still be a fire hazard...

Hello,

The battery part numbers used by your product are not affected by any battery recall. This would be true for the original or any replacement HP batteries you may receive.

Best regards
