Hi I want to ask how can I enable something like smart charging on my HP laptop. It's a feature that is available on my lenovo laptop and it charges the laptop in an adaptive way.

Hi @Sp4rk,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

HP laptops like the HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 do not typically include a built-in "Smart Charging" feature identical to Lenovo's (e.g., limiting battery charge to 60–80% to preserve battery health). However, you can try the steps shared below and let us know if this helps.

Use HP Support Assistant Settings (Limited)

Some newer models allow basic battery care features through the HP Support Assistant app.

Steps:

  • Open HP Support Assistant
  • Go to Battery or Power section
  • See if there’s a battery charging mode setting (often only shows health, not limits)

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved, and if you feel this reply was helpful, click “Yes”.

Thanks for being part of the HP Community!
