I am setting up a Chromebook for my son. I need to disable the touchpad for him to be successful. I cannot figure out how to disable the touchpad. The settings do not contain such an option. Please help!

Welcome to the HP support community.

You can disable your Chromebook's touchpad or touchscreen if those features are causing problems.

First go here: chrome://flags/#ash-debug-shortcuts
and enable the flag, then click on RESTART NOW at the bottom of that page.

Once that's done, you have two new keyboard shortcut toggles available to you -
<Search> + <Shift> + P will toggle the touchpad off/on
and
<Search> + <Shift> + T  will toggle the touchscreen off/on

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

Wow I did not even know that was possible. I don't have a chromebook but I love my touch screen and having the touchpad.
