Hi. My PC says it came with three USBs.  : 2: USB 2.0 and 1: USB 3.0.  Questions:

1. How can I tell if any ports have power?  None of the device manager properties boxes have a "power" tab.

2. How can I confirm I have a USB 3.0 port?  None of the ports have a 3.0 SS symbol.

Thanks

What do you moean power ? When machine is ON, all USB ports have pwoer. When machine is OFF normally only one port has power. We can use that port to charge our mobile devices.

Many HP machines do not use color coded for USB ports (black USB 2.0, blue USB 3.0 ...)

You are saying, it has 2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 therefore it has 2 USB 2.0 ports at one side and 1 USB 3.0 port at other side BUT I believe your machine has 2 USB 3.0 ports on the left and one USB 2.0 port on the right.

Updated: Manual does not say which USB port has power when machine is OFF. It only has 3 ports, you can try one by one to confirm, no more than one minute test.

Regards.

Thank you.  You are correct, I misspoke, I have 2x USB 3.0 on left side and 1x USB 2.0 on right.

My question is whether the USB 2.0 provides power when in use.  I am looking at a ProSonus iTwo micorphone preamp mixer.   Apparently it works best with a USB 2.0, and may not work as well with 3.0  And it requires USB bus power.
