Hi @Joel-SA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To get the hardware hash ID of an HP computer before opening the box, your options are limited, but here’s what you need to know:

hardware hash (also called a hardware ID) is a unique identifier used by Windows Autopilot to register and manage devices in Microsoft Intune or other MDM platforms.

You’ll need to:

  1. Boot the device (even partially).
  2. Use Shift + F10 during the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) to open Command Prompt.
  3. Run a PowerShell script to extract the hash.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
