Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

When turning laptop on, got error message that fan wasn’t working properly and computer kept shutting down.  I need to clean fan, but don’t know how.  I have compressed air to spray into air vents, but wondering if fan is even behind these vents?  Afraid to unscrew computer back to manually locate s as mc clean fan.

Where is the fan and what’s the best way to get it clean?

Please use the following Guide

             https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/tech-takes/how-to-clean-your-laptop

and the following manual should show you how to open your machine:

I don’t see in the manual where the air vents are.  Are they only underneath the laptop or are the mesh holes above the keyboard also vents?

I can’t open the laptop to clean the fan, so can it be cleaned by using compressed air from the outside?

You can see on page 11 and page 14 of the Manual. Looks like you have to open the whole machine
